Responsibilities :

  • The Presidency of the Council of the Institute and supervising its planning and advocacy to attend its meetings and the implementation of its resolutions and minutes of its meetings to the Rector.
  • Supervising the educational operation and plans implementation and developing academic programs.
  • Application of regulations of the Board of higher education, and achieving higher goals and policies of King Saud University.
  • Supervising and following-up the preparation of the institute strategic plan.
  • Supervising the educational department Institute, academic, research, administrative and Student Affairs, graduate studies.
  • Seeking to raise standards of quality in the Institute's activities, and develop administrative, academic, research, and application of quality systems and regulations and academic evaluation and accreditation.
  • Coordination and development of the Institute within the University, as well as coordination between the institute and the community institutions and ministries and Government installations in accordance with University regulations.
  • Supervise the provision of educational and academic Institute and all administrative and research requirements.
  • Implement policies and programs adopted for areas for students and educational services, assistance and specific goals.
  • Educational process control and academic work, exams, and adjust the system within the Institute.
  • Evaluating the performance of vice institute and heads of Scientific departments.
  • Preparation of a comprehensive periodic report on the progress of the study and functionality in the Institute and submitted to the Rector.
  • Direct letters of thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Institute faculty and technical, managerial personnel in accordance with the regulations.

Powers :

  • Recommendation for the appointment of vice dean and heads of scientific departments to the rector.
  • The approval of recommendations of department’s boards.
  • All matters relating to members of the Faculty of the Institute and other appointment, promotion, transfer, assignment and accepting resignation and other academic matters related.
  • Internal decisions for good administration of the Institute in accordance with the regulations.
  • Adoption of evaluation reports by departments heads on faculty and professional staff and others, and recommendation for promotion, renewal or cancellation.
  • The adoption of normal, emergency, exceptional vacations for staff of the Institute and inform the Dean of faculty and staff in accordance with the rules.
  • Delegate his powers in accordance with University regulations.
  • The adoption Purchase orders in accordance with the regulations.
  • Forming various committees within the Institute.
  • The adoption of disciplinary decisions in accordance with regulations.
  • Adoption benefits payments for working overtimes.
