Arabic Linguistics Institute (ALI) hopes that these questions and answers would be of a great benefit to those who want to join its programs.
1- I have just finished high school in Switzerland and would like to improve my Arabic language skills by staying in an Arab country and taking an Arabic language course for 3-4 months (best February to May), so I thought KSU is the best university in the Middle East would certainly be an excellent choice. Therefore, I would like to ask you the following question:
Do you offer any such programs for foreigners?
• Certainly, Arabic Linguistics Institute in King Saud University offers such programs for teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers, but not for 3-4 months only. The program is a two-year program, full-time.
2- How can I join Arabic Linguistics Institute?

3- What are the costs of the program?
• The programs are offered as scholarships, free without any costs.
4- Do you offer any student's accommodation facilities?
• With pleasure, there are accommodation facilities for the students of the institute.

9- What are the departments of Arabic Linguistics Institute?
Arabic Linguistics Institute consists of three departments:
• Language and culture department.
• Teacher training department.
• Teacher preparation department.

10- What are the admission requirements?
Language and Culture Dept
1. A minimum of high school certificate with an average of very good.
2. The applicant must not be over 25 years old.
3. The applicant must be physically fit.
4. The applicant must be a full time student.
Teacher Training Dept
1. A minimum of B.A degree or equivalent in Arabic with a minimum grade of v. good.
2. The applicant must be a teacher of Arabic as a foreign Language at the time of application.
3. The applicant must not be over (40) years old.
4. The applicant must be physically fit.
5. The applicant must pass the placement test administrated by the department.
6. The applicant must be a full-time student.
Teacher Preparation Dept
1. A minimum of B.A degree with a minimum grade of v. good.
2. Arabic Language -Education majoring in Arabic from an Arabic university.
3. The applicant must not be over 35 years old.
4. The applicant must be physically fit.
5. The applicant must be a full-time student.
The following must be attached to the application:
1. A copy of the certificate.
2. A copy of the transcript.
3. An original letter (or letters) of recommendation by a known academic or official institution.
4. A recent medical report (less the one month from the applicant date).
5. A copy of a valid passport.
6. 3 new photographers (size 4x6).
7. An official letter of approval from the applicants government to study in Institute.
8. The full address of the applicant written in both Arabic and English.
11- What are the admission requirements for Master of Arts for teaching Arabic to speakers of other languages (TASOL)?
- Bachelor Degree in Arabic with a minimum grade of very good.
- Passing the written test and the interview.
- Medical fitness.
- Two letters of recommendation by two Professors.
Priority to the young and recent graduates. -
- A full-time study.
The following must be attached to the application:
- A certified copy of the Bachelor Degree certificate.
- A certified copy of the four-year transcript.
- Original letters of recommendation by a known academic or official
institutions.
- A copy of the certificate of good conduct and behavior.
- A recent medical report.
- A copy of passport.
- A recent photo (size 4x6).
- An official letter of approval from the applicants government to
study in the Institute.
- The full address of the applicant written in both Arabic and English.
- Email of the applicant.
