The Postgraduate Diploma for Training Teachers of Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers

Program Objectives
By the end of this program, student should obtain and be able to:
- Prepare mini-lessons, teach language levels and skills, correct mistakes and be able to manage the class effectively and efficiently.
- Mastering skills required for teacher’s performance, especially classroom management and methods of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.
- Constructing language tests.
- Use of educational means and technologies, master the skills necessary to use computers and employ technology in teaching the Arabic language.
- Knowledge of Islamic culture and civilization.
- Recognize the most important fields of Applied Linguistics.
- Explain the most important approaches, theories and modern methods of teaching Arabic.
- Describe the levels of linguistic analysis.
- Use dictionaries and discriminate between them.
Admission Requirements
The Postgraduate Diploma Program:
- A minimum of B. A. degree in Arabic or equivalent in Education or Islamic studies with a minimum grade of V. Good.
- The applicant must be a teacher of Arabic at the time of application. He/she should append a proof.
- The applicant must not be over (40) years old.
- The applicant should append a medical report of physical fitness.
- The applicant must pass the placement test by the department.
- The applicant must be a full-time student.
Whoever completes the program is awarded the postgraduate diploma for training teachers of Arabic to non-native speakers’ certificate.
Short Course of Training Teachers of Arabic to Non-Native Speakers:
- The applicant must be a holder of the Secondary Education Leave Certificate with a minimum grade of V. Good.
- The applicant must be a teacher of Arabic at the time of application and should append a proof or being of the distinguished graduates of the language and culture department in the institute with a minimum grade of V. Good.
- The applicant must not be over (45) years old.
- The applicant should append a medical report of physical fitness.
- The applicant must pass the placement test.
Whoever completes the training course is awarded a pass certificate of the training course of training teachers of Arabic to non-native speakers.
The program puts in force the undergraduate study and exam regulations (It is possible for this training course to be held outside the Kingdom after gaining consent of the official person).
